What Scott Said About Working With Speechy
On his Instagram, Scott said…
‘I kept it a secret at the time 🤐 and this is not a #spon but I just want to thank the brilliant people at @speechyspeeches for helping me out when I honestly did not know where to start with my wedding day speech.
If you know what you want to say but find it difficult to express, or are just overwhelmed at the idea of writing an important speech for a big occasion or event, this really does take some of the stress out of what is already a stressful time.
Knowing what to say I found incredibly daunting, and wanted to avoid all the cliches you can easily find on the internet (even the cake is in tiers etc 😂)
To be clear, they do NOT write your feelings. That all comes from you.
But they can really help to shape what you want to say into something concise, personal to you and make sure you get it bang on.
Highly recommend’

Well, That’s Rather Lovely
We loved working with Scott and Sam too. They wanted a really funny speech as their vows were on the more romantic and poignant side.
We got them to fill in a questionnaire and then we had an in depth chat to further interrogate them.
The couple wanted to deliver a joint speech and we always love writing them. A joint speech allows us to play with a couple’s relationship dynamic as well as contrast their (often differing) perspectives on their relationship.
Speechy writer, Ed wrote the first draft of the speech, and as usual, Heidi, the TopDog, provided an extra pair of eyes before it was emailed to Scott and Sam for feedback. Luckily there was hardly any and the grooms-to-be loved the first draft from the get-go.
Everyone from Calvin Harris to Rylan, and from Sam Ryder to Pixie Lott were in attendance on the wedding day. The stakes were high but judging by the feedback on socials, everyone had a blast.
Congratulations you two! And, wow, the photos by Lara Onac were off the scale!

Why All Nearlyweds Should Consider a Joint Wedding Speech
Whether it’s a bride and groom or a same-sex wedding speech, joint speeches are a wedding trend that’s set to stay. It’s a great way of saying, ‘BOOM, we’re a team.’
You both get to thank your friends and family and you can rehearse your speech together.
It also takes the pressure off just one of you and allows you to discuss your speech and have fun with it along the way.
Celebrity Wedding Planner, David Tutera told Speechy,‘My husband, Joey and I did it together! We went on the dance floor and went back and forth between us and it was great. We showed our abundance of love for the people that we wanted to be there and to me, that is the most important aspect of speeches.’
Many of our Speechy clients have said their joint speech became the epicentre of their day and every couple speech we’ve written has gone down a storm. They’re unusual, they’re modern and they’re just really entertaining.
‘A couple of decades ago couples started to care about the first dance and really turning that into something special, often taking professional dance lessons in advance. Now I think it’s time for the speeches to shine and for couples to wake up to how they can make them special too.’ Eleonora Tucci, Weddings & Honeymoons magazine.
‘One trend I’ve loved seeing take off over the last few years is joint speeches from couples. It’s a great way to kick off your marriage as a real unit.’ Hamish Shephard, Bridebook.
And here’s Pixie Lott enjoying Scott & Sam’s speech as proof!
